Logic is the enemy of faith, reasoning away a detachment of love. Yet some try to deny, as they reason to defend their way into a grave. For the flesh loves reasoning and the mind is hardly satisfied, devouring the imagination any way it can.

Logic fails and nothing is what it seems. Because what makes sense can be so broken, what brings comfort can be stolen, and the values we have can take on erosion. In an attempt to be so cautious we only begin reasoning with fear, using more logic to defend our views which seem so clear.

Through this endless logic, man remains comfortable enough to linger in the familiarity of fears, reasoning away countless calculations, bringing everything in life toward a stale mediocrity, only stunting our growth. For the driving force behind growth is not found in thought. And a man’s strength for faith is not discovered by learning. But in the passionate fire of the soul, we see the truth take us beyond the limitations we know.

How many times have you let someone down? How many times have you done it to yourself? How many times were you certain only to have the results come crashing down? We all have and it’s happened more than we like to admit. We’ve put trust in things we assumed were perfectly reasonable only to find that it failed. And it is so difficult to accept being wrong. Some never can and fight to the bitter end. Only to defend it to the grave. But the truth is logic fails, because the mind is based in a fallen system, grown out of a fallen world. It is subject to failure just like any other organ in the body. When we understand this we can accurately put the notion of failure in it’s proper place, and safeguard ourselves from feeling so defeated.
