What would it be like if there were no hope for anyone? If all hope was simply wiped away from the whole earth, how different would life be? People may perceive love differently, and find the truth in different ways, but hope is so basic and easy to understand I wonder how many times we’ve taken it for granted. I think about how many times I may have overlooked it’s value based solely on its simplicity. Sometimes, it’s hard to see what you really have until you loose it. Going without hope would certainly be the end.

For a long time I didn’t see the significance of having faith, hope, and love being mentioned in such high regard. I completely understood the value of mentioning faith and love, but why hope? It always seemed to be something a little too simplistic compared to the other two. It used to seem a little out of place.

I started to realize hope is one of the most powerful aspects in life, even if it was one of the smallest. Because without hope we’re never going to make that decision to have faith or believe in love. Hope is the hook. Hope is the first rung on the ladder. Like a lobby, or a gateway, that everyone else can understand and relate to. Almost every person in the world lives with the day to day influence of chasing hope, allowing us to enter the realm of possibilities, in hopes of finding true meaning and fulfillment.

I also realized that no one is ever going to feel confident enough to let go without having some kind of hope to lean on. If you’ve been really hurt by someone, every time you’re around them, you feel that anxiety. You may discover that part of the answer is to let go and forgive. Well how insanely difficult would it be to let go without having a little hope to predict some sort of favorable outcome? Hope is vital, and it may just be the heartbeat of our spiritual awareness.

It’s amazing how something so small, and yet so powerful, can go on undetected. Something that affects us in almost every part of our lives, influencing us without even recognizing what’s going on. Maybe what most believers could take away from this is knowing how important it is to give people hope before trying to push the truth on them or tell them of a love they may not relate to yet. Maybe most people are hungry for a little more hope before trying to absorb anything else. It’s easy to get overwhelmed, especially in the world we live in now. I challenge you to give someone a little hope today and see what happens. It may do more than you know. Hope is one of the top 3, and we all need it to survive this crazy world. It’s a good thing to remember that hope never dies.
