How can we know who we can trust and why? Because we’ve all made the kind of mistakes that cause us to question our own ability to sniff out a lie. Have you ever ignored that warning inside only to wish later on that you could go back in time? Some people have a spidey sense for these things and others can pick up on the little clues that shine a big light on what to do. But sometimes knowing is not always enough. In the end it still comes down to whether or not you trust yourself in making decisions and taking action.

Find the Design

So obviously the goal is to not only get smarter but to also trust your instincts. There’s so much I’ve learned from all the mistakes I’ve made in this area. So instead of wallow in the past, I choose to just learn from my failures, follow my heart,  and just get better. One of the best lessons I’ve learned is to notice the design elements at play in almost every situation. Which I would define as an abstract way of viewing good ole fashion common sense. For example, if something, or someone lets you down with the small things, there’s a really good chance they may let you down with the more important things. I think Jesus gave the best example of this by saying “You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.” (Matthew 7:16-20)

Design never lies

Everything is this world conforms to some kind of design, even things that are invisible. It has helped me a lot in life to approach problems this way, especially if I’ve come to a fork in the road and don’t know what to do. I know it may not make sense and requires a lot more explaining to really get what I’m trying to say. The overall idea is that everything in life is casting some sort of light, no matter how big or how small. When it does, it gives clues as to what it’s all about. It may be obvious or it may be very minimal, but the clues are always there. It’s inevitable. Everything leans to some sort of design, and knowing this helps to refine our ability to discern what’s going on all around us. Because “the fruits of design never lie.” -The Everything.

In the beginning God made man and woman, and this is the pinnacle of physical design. The complimenting and contrasting centerpiece in all of creation we find.

We use design to find mathematical harmony in the nature of God. In between the rhythmic tones similar characters and pieces working together in a complimentary way, there lies a glimpse of what is real. Thoughts hidden under the surface brought forth by what the spirit reveals.

Design is the complimentary arrangement and purpose of all things in creation, and the contrast of design unlocks the key to knowledge.
