This contemporary figure painting was made to convey the moment logic begins to fail and a need for intuition begins. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve pushed as hard as I can only to see it fall flat time and again. Sometimes things just don’t make sense and situations don’t always add up. In my life, I have found that what makes sense can be broken. Logic can fail, and sometimes it’s difficult to see why. Those are the moments I began to realize that I can’t always put confidence in the knowledge I’ve gained or the experiences I’ve learned. No matter how we slice it, life often requires that we see past the boundaries of what makes sense, and simply take a step of faith. This painting is meant to remind us of the importance of not being too fixated on doing things a certain way. Facts can fail, and logic becomes broken, but the moment we learn to see beyond ourselves is the moment we have a chance to experience freedom on a completely different level.
