The story of my art is one that was born out of hardship and difficulty. It was a time when I discovered things about myself and my creative process that I would never have otherwise. All the conflicts, storms, and trials I started going through allowed me to see my life through a different set of eyes. It made me more determined to develop instead of giving up. So much of everything I was going through would constantly try to discourage me with disappointments, but I refused to compromise who I was. Although we go through tough times, that type of experience can help us develop. For me, I was able to nurture and refine my passion because it helped me remember what I cared about. Those difficult days had a way of shaping my character and art by preventing me from becoming complacent.

There were three times in my life that I went through very difficult and life-altering storms. Some of them I could not see until it was too late and others were difficult every step of the way. One thing is for sure, it made me stronger because it forced me to learn from those times. I had to learn the art of finding joy through all the pain and avoid the trap of becoming bitter.

About my art

My art is the visual journey of escaping the hazy world of depression, anger, and discouragement. It has been a visual journey of trusting that inner voice and believing in yourself. A journey for those who endure conflict, get through the storm, overcome the trials, and begin to maintain your disposition through it all.

Purpose of art

I have found what I believe is the best purpose of art, which is to help others believe in themselves. If you don’t feel like you have what it takes you’re never going to try. You’re never going to allow yourself to grow, change or do anything because you don’t think you have what it takes. So if you don’t believe in yourself you won’t feel worthy enough to help anybody else either. God created the kingdom for us to work together and build each other up. He purposely made us all slightly lacking so that we need each other.
