The Way of Grace and The Law of Change
Change is never easy, and bringing yourself to cross that line is not a comfortable feeling. But once you bring yourself to a state of brokenness and chose to face the lessons of life. (Rather than waiting for the lessons of life to catch up with you.) You position yourself to begin walking in the flow of the Spirit. Breaking off all the bitterness, unforgiveness, and disappointment sets you free. All those issues build up on our lives like distractions that can’t be ignored. Distractions that interrupt us from the inside. Wherever you turn, there they are. Keeping you from concentrating on going forward with your life.
One important thing to realize is there are two laws that pine for us against one another. “For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:2 There are a few different ways to explain these two laws and spiritual phenomenon, and it’s a big topic. But it all comes down to performance or grace. When you allow someone to dump guilt or fear over you, it causes you to see yourself differently. You’ll begin comparing yourself to others and comparing others to yourself. You start breaking apart situations and comparing circumstances to your own. Eventually, you’ll feel trapped and stressed out trying to get ahead of it, but no one has all that figured out. No one is good enough to be a perfect super hero. But on the other hand, you can take the criticisms of others and realize that things aren’t always what they seem. The person who criticized you has been criticized themselves, they’re only passing along scars they were given. Their unit of measurement isn’t the bases we use to define ourselves and our own direction.
The journey is within, and the flow of God’s grace is foreign to this world. It’s important to understand this, otherwise we fall into the law of sin, where everything in life becomes a performance issue. You’ll stress yourself out trying to be “good enough” for everyone around you. Yes you should strive for accomplishment in doing great things. But if you fall short, it doesn’t take away from your own worth. You must separate your worth and the way you see yourself, from the things you do and decisions you make. Otherwise it becomes self-righteous, where the more you try only allows it to be harder to live.
God made this world to be that way so that we come to the end of ourselves. Allowing us to see we need a savior. Allowing us to experience the blessings that come from being broken. Are you tired of trying so hard? Maybe you’ve fallen into the performance trap. Maybe God is right there waiting for you to say “I’ve had enough!” “I give up, I don’t want to do this anymore!” When you give Him permission, He will show you what grace is all about. I like to think of His grace as a formula that works the same for every living person on this planet. Just like math. Unbiased, unchanging, eternal, and pure. His grace accepts you no matter where you are, what you’ve done, or still doing. Religion and the traditions of men are all based on methods for living that can never help you become good enough for God. But His grace washes all that away. Grace outshines all other laws, wherever His payment is applied. As long as you allow yourself to become broken, and allow your savior inside.
The way of the spirit works through brokenness to establish our faith in the Way. But are we too busy with methods for living, rules of giving, and wondering who’s sinning in this life we’re living?
Forgetting to release ourselves through His perfect peace in a life of ease?
The Everything
The formula is not a method but the eternal word of God given to us before time began. To balance the knowledge of our lives with His glorious plan.
But mankind has a tendency of distorting the formula of God’s word into methods, which must be corrected again.
For man’s method dilutes the formula of God’s word from bringing life to those who believe.
Religion is a man-made tradition, Jesus came that we might have life, not religion. He did this by paying for sin through the same formula I speak of:
-To deny your selfishness-
Resting in the love of the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. And living in His selflessness, you naturally love your neighbor as yourself.
Because when you let it all go, it comes right back around. But if you do what you can to hold on, it slowly slips away.
“The way of the Lord is strength to the upright, but destruction to the workers of iniquity.” -Proverbs 10:29
It’s only a matter of time before the agitations bring bitterness. Bitterness which eats you alive, pulling your strings of pride, jerking you around until the resentment takes your life.
Unless of course you’re willing to see the other side. Where forgiveness sets you on high, releasing your soul to the Lord of all Life.
Regardless of what others may choose, forgiveness will always free you from contention or strife.
