Description
This abstract figure painting was created at a time when my wife and I were still living in our humble apartment. We were newlyweds and we spent a lot of time learning and growing spiritually. One of the biggest revelations we had was learning that ‘Faith is Rest.’ This idea was beginning to change the way we live our lives. To walk in forgiveness for example, and to continually let go every day. This was put to the test during this time because my day job had gotten very stressful. We were working between 12 to 16 hours a day and the management was making some stressful decisions. I finally had a breakthrough one day… I got so mad that I just stopped caring. I made a decision to stop allowing it to get to me. I decided to let go.
Shortly after this happened, our manager was fired. The stress and long hours began to go away. We started to move into this next season with a renewed sense of peace and gratitude. Sometimes I think back on that time and remember how it felt to finally let those problems roll off my shoulders. It was an important moment that I’ll never forget. I realized that going through this enabled me to rise above the problems, because they no longer had the power to change how I feel. That was the moment I realized how powerful it is to simply walk in a careless peace.
